Author and illustrator Kevin O’Malley is coming to Blue Bell on Monday, March 8th!  We are very excited to have him and are preparing for his visit.  Book order forms will be sent home the week of February 1st and are due back on February 19th.  Check out his website at http://www.booksbyomalley.com/

Kindergarten Pre-Registration Overview

The elementary schools in the Wissahickon School District will be holding a pre-registration overview for the parents of next year's kindergartners.  The open house for Blue Bell Elementary School will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.  It will begin at 9:30 AM, with a welcome and overview of the school program by Mrs. Denise Fagan, Principal of Blue Bell Elementary.  Building tours will follow.  Children are welcome but need not attend.  Future kindergarten students will be invited to an orientation day with parents and teachers in August before the school year begins.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration will be held from April 12-April 28.  Scheduling an appointment is strongly encouraged.  Parents are encouraged to pick up the registration packets ahead of time, beginning on March 3rd.  Packets are available in the school office.

The following times are are available to schedule an appointment for registration at Blue Bell Elementary:

Monday, April 19 from 10:15AM - 5:45 PM
Tuesday, April 20 from 8:15 AM - 3:45 PM
Wednesday, April 21 from 7:45 AM - 3:15 PM

Blue Bell’s Mile Club is off and running!  Every student and staff member is invited to join the fun run/walk on the playground on Friday mornings from 8:10-8:25 weather permitting. *Temperatures must be above 32 degrees F*

WHS Baseball Clinic 2010

The WHS Baseball Clinic will provide players in grades K-6 with an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game and get a head start on the upcoming season.  The preseason skills clinic will feature small group instruction, lectures, demonstrations and drills.  All levels of ability are welcome. The clinic is on Friday, February 26th, 2010.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

Dear Parents,

It's that time of the year again when we honor our teachers with a buffet luncheon on Friday, February 26th, 2010.  Please look for details in your Wednesday Folders.  We are looking for parents who are interested in cooking, baking, serving , cleaning up , or simply making a donation towards this event  We rely on parents for their help in hosting this memorable and successful event.  If you have any questions please contact Sophia Penning at sophiagreekgirl@verizozn.net

Museum Passes
The library has passes to the Penn Museum, Morris Arboretum, and the National Liberty Museum!
The PTO obtained family passes to all three museums and the passes are available for check out at the library.
The check out is for one week and an adult must come to the library to check out the pass.
