"A school is four walls with
tomorrow inside."
- John Locke
Wissahickon's seven schools feature a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum,
state-of-the-art technology, and well-maintained
grounds. The District serves approximately 4,655 students in the three contiguous communities of Lower Gwynedd Township, the Borough of Ambler, and Whitpain Township-- an area of twenty-five (25) square miles.
Students learn in five elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8) and high school (9-12). The professional staff is comprised of 388 full and part time certificated teachers, 254 of whom have Master’s degrees and 8 who hold Doctoral degrees.
Wissahickon School District provides a comprehensive safety & security program designed to provide students, staff and visitors with
facilities that meet or exceed standards in fire
safety, air quality, hazardous materials management,
chemical safety and building safety.
A video surveillance
system in every school is just one of the many safety features
implemented across the school district.
