As part of the 50th Anniversary celebration of Wissahickon School District, students in every school participated in the #WissTurns50 Tweet Contest. In each elementary classroom and the homeroom classes at the middle and high school, students were challenged to work collaboratively to write tweets about what Wissahickon means to them. The Student Council for each school then selected the top tweets for their school - 5 tweets for each elementary school and 15 tweets each for the middle and high school.
Of these selections, Central Office administrators selected the number one tweet that we will adopt as our new district tagline. The number one tweet, written and submitted by the high school TV Lab students - Hailey Palmer, Anna Skillom and Alex Hartzog is:
"Being a Wissahickon Student Means Bleeding Blue with a Heart of Gold."
Congratulations to these talented students for their creative and inspirational tweet about our school district!
"Bleeding Blue with a Heart of Gold" will now be featured on district letterhead and on the district website. We will continue to share all top 50 tweets on our website and social media (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube). Click here to see video clips of our students reading the winning tweets for each school.
Thanks to all of our students for sharing what Wissahickon means to them!
