Transportation

The Wissahickon School District Transportation Department works closely with schools, students and their parents to ensure a safe, dependable and efficient ride to and from school.

Currently, we transport approximately 6,200 students to over 115 schools with 76 buses and 11 vans. The School District Transportation Department uses 46 buses and 11 vans for transporting with district owned-vehicles and we are located in Blue Bell. The remainder of the 30 bus routes are done by First Student Transportation with a local facility, which is 100% dedicated to our school district.  In total, approximately 1.15 million miles are driven annually to transport students residing in the Wissahickon School District.

All drivers are trained and certified according to state mandates.  They are also required to pass all state and federal background checks for Criminal Records, Child Abuse and Fingerprinting.
