Supervisor of Transportation

 

The Wissahickon School District , a suburban district, located 25 miles north of Philadelphia is seeking a Supervisor of Transportation.  The district covers 23 square miles, transports 5,700 students to 100+ schools, operates an in-house fleet of 70 vehicles, and contracts 30-35 vehicles.

 

Position responsibilities include overseeing the transportation operation, driver training, and safety program.  Requirements include staff management experience, CDL, solid understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to student transportation, ability to maintain safety program, excellent written and verbal communications, demonstrated problem solving skills, experience with transportation routing and mapping software, and public relation skills.  State certified training instructor preferable.

  • Secondary Course Writing  Course writers needed to write planned courses of study for the following:

 

1.      Grades 7-12 Social Studies (6 courses, one at each grade level)

2.      High School Health and Physical Education (4 courses total, 2 in health; 2 in recreational activities)

3.      Middle School Health (3 courses, one at each grade level)

 

Course writing work needs to follow established scheduled timeline, including portions of the project to be completed during the summer. Please be sure to indicate the course/grade level you are interested in writing. 

 

Certification required in the content area. Authors will be compensated at the curriculum-writing rate as per the collective bargaining agreement. Teachers needed to revise existing mathematics (assessments) data collection instruments for grades 1-6.

                                       

Teachers will work on the following:

1.                  Revise existing data collection instruments

2.                  Align with anchors/standards & Everyday Mathematics Program/grade level goals

3.                  Develop timelines for administration
