Safety and Security
The Wissahickon School District is committed to ensuring the safety of students and staff in all the buildings.
There are several security measures that have been implemented in the buildings. This includes the locking of all exterior doors during the school day. Entry is permitted through a remote access system. Any one wishing to enter may contact the main office via a call box located at the main entrance doors. Additional call boxes can be found at the High School square gym lobby, auditorium lobby, and Lower Gwynedd Elementary at the rear entrance.
Also, all classrooms have intruder function locksets and the exterior doors have been numbered to easily identify locations with emergency personnel.
The buildings have security cameras installed to monitor activities both inside and outside.
The District’s full time security officer and contracted security guards provide services during the school day at both the High School and Middle School. The District also provides additional security guards to cover special events.
