Set up email and/or text alerts to receive district and school-specific news and calendar events that are posted on the WSD website. Alerts can be customized by district and school news and events.

In order to receive timely and effective communication, it is essential for parents to maintain up-to-date contact information including email and phone numbers in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

Family contact information entered into Infinite Campus is automatically uploaded to our global notification system, SchoolMessenger, which we use to send emails, phone calls and text messages. The large majority of school information is shared via email while phone calls and text messages are reserved for urgent notifications, such as school closings. To ensure that emails don't go into your spam filter, mark the email address, broadcasts@schoolmessengermail.com as a safe sender.  

Text Message Opt In:  If you would like to receive text messages from the district, make sure you have opted in by texting a Y or Yes to the short-code 67587 on your phone. You will receive a confirmation text letting you know that you have opted in.

To provide translation of district and school wide emails and text messages for parents whose primary language isn’t English, families are asked to designate their preferred language in the Infinite Campus portal. Please view instructions below to select your preferred language. If no language is selected, messages will default to English.

1. Login to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account.
2. Click the User Menu – represented by the person icon.
3. Click the Settings Link
4. Click the Contact Preferences Link
5. Use the Preferred Language drop-down list to select your preferred written communication language.
6. After you have selected your preferred written communication language, click the save button.

PLEASE NOTE: This will only apply to messages sent from district and school administration. Communication from your child’s teachers will continue to be supported in the same manner.

The free WSD mobile app provides quick and easy access to the most commonly used school information right from your smartphone or tablet. 

Directions: Search Wissahickon School District in the App Store on your Apple, Android or Windows device to download the app. When you first download the app, it will prompt you to choose your settings. Select the schools you want information from & allow Push Notifications if you would like automatic reminders.

Did you miss an automated phone call from the school district? No worries! We are pleased to introduce a call retrieval line which allows you to replay automated phone messages that the district sends via School Messenger. This will ensure deliverability in cases where you miss a call, someone else answers the call, your voice mail is full, a cell phone call is dropped before the message is completed, and/or the reception is poor, making the message difficult to understand.

The caller ID for automated district phone calls will be (877) 548-5634. We recommend saving this phone number as a contact so you will recognize calls from the district. Everything works as normal if you answer the call or have a voicemail left. (Note: this only applies to automated messages and not “live calls” from a staff member).

If you need to retrieve the automated message for any reason, follow these steps:

1. Simply press redial or call 877-548-5634. You will hear a prompt that you have reached the SchoolMessenger notification system for Wissahickon.
2. To listen to the message, press 1 and the system will read back your telephone number.
3. Press 1 to verify or press 2 to enter a different telephone number.
4. The most recent automated phone message from the district will begin playing.
5. To repeat the message, press the star (*) key or press the pound (#) key to skip to another message. The last 30 messages from the district may be retrieved.
