PSSA ONLINE TESTING

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has been reliably offering online testing for approximately ten years, and the statewide online testing numbers are increasing every academic year.  The online testing platform offers a more streamlined test administration and greater test security.  This spring, Wissahickon is expanding the use of the online PSSA test administration to multiple grades and subject areas at the elementary and middle school levels.  Specifically, students in Grades 4 through 8 will participate in the online version of the PSSA (ELA, Math, and Science).  The online testing format benefits students by providing a more engaging student testing experience.  The online test environment displays one question with response options per screen, which eliminates any answer sheet misalignment, enables student review of unanswered or flagged responses, and delivers assessment accommodations more efficiently and discreetly.  In addition to using online instruction and assessment tools regularly embedded into the classroom, students will have many opportunities to become familiar with the online system through training tools and tutorials provided by the PDE.

Thank you for your support throughout the PSSA testing sessions.  Additional PSSA testing information will be communicated closer to the testing window and posted to the district website (https://www.wsdweb.org/academics/assessments/pssa-clone).  If you have additional questions, please contact your child’s school principal.
