The School Board approved a preliminary budget at its virtual public meeting held February 18, 2026. 

The Wissahickon School District adopted a preliminary budget for the upcoming fiscal year that includes a real estate tax increase exceeding the Act 1 Index established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

The Act 1 Index limits tax increases to 3.5% unless approved by voters or authorized under Act 1 exceptions. Due to qualifying Act 1 referendum exceptions, the District is proposing a tax increase of approximately 5.1%, or 1.6% above the Act 1 Index, to balance the budget.
