Wiss Well-being: Talk About the Importance of Mental Health and How to Seek Help

The importance of mental health dialogue cannot be overstated. Mental health dialogue refers to open and honest conversations about mental health that aim to reduce stigma, increase awareness, and promote understanding. Check out the mental health resources below, including how to seek support, how to support others, and help end the stigma and silence.

  • Mental Health America – Strategies promoting mental wellness, information about treatment and services, and education about mental health and its impact on individuals and society.
  • NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) – The Montgomery County chapter of NAMI provides facts, treatment information, and local resources to support yourselves and your loved ones, including online and in-person events such as the NAMI Walks.
  • Active Minds – This advocacy group aims to increase awareness and create open and honest dialogue about mental health awareness in youth. This site provides a wealth of resources for families and students, targeting the needs of today’s high school students.
