Communication Methods: Inclement Weather/Emergencies
Communication Methods: Inclement Weather/Emergencies

With winter upon us, here's some reminders about our communication methods for weather/emergency notifications.

INFINITE CAMPUS: As soon as a decision is made about weather delays/closures, we send a phone call, text and email to our families. This is our primary means of communication in times of emergency, so please be sure the contact information we have on file for your family is up to date in the Infinite Campus Portal.  Click here to review instructions on updating your contact information.  Please contact your child’s school if you need assistance with Infinite Campus.

TEXT MESSAGES: Please make sure you have your mobile phone numbers listed in Infinite Campus and opt in by texting “Y” or “Yes” to 67587 to confirm that you can receive text messages from the district. NOTE: bus delays are also communicated via text message.

MOBILE APP: The WSD mobile app is one of the easiest ways to receive alerts and view news and calendars from the schools you choose. Search Wissahickon School District in your App Store to download the free mobile app to your mobile device - Apple or Android.

WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA: Families and the community can check our website ( or the district’s social media outlets.

Twitter - @WissahickonSD

TV/RADIO STATIONS: Delays/closures are posted on channels 3, 6, 10 and 29 and KYW Newsradio 103.9FM and 1060AM (school closing #314).

If you have any communication related questions, contact Kristen Rawlings at 215-619-8022.
