Tips4Kids

Each and every child deserves the chance to fall in love with reading!

Baby reading a book

If you have children between the ages of zero to five, sign up for the Wissahickon Tips4Kids program. Tips are tailored to specific age groups - babies (0-1), toddlers (2-3), and preschoolers (4-5).

Each week during the school year, you receive a literacy tip to help your child(ren) learn to love reading! Children learn the alphabet and letter sounds; expand their vocabulary; and develop critical thinking skills. Children who enjoy reading and have a solid foundation of literacy skills come to Kindergarten ready to learn and grow!

Bedtime Stories with Wissahickon

We think reading is so important that we offer a video series: "Bedtime Stories with Wissahickon." Every week, we will share a video of one of our staff, students or partners reading a children's book for your enjoyment. Watch on our Facebook, Twitter or YouTube channel. New stories will be posted every Thursday at 7 pm. You can also access this week's story on our Weekly Tips4Kids webpage at any time.

To access more stories, check out Storyline Online. This literacy website for children also has books read aloud by celebrated actors and well-known people. Watch and listen to your favorite stories with family members young and old!
