The Wissahickon High School Semi-Formal will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the high school. Doors will open at 7:00pm and the event will end at 11:00 pm.
In order to attend the dance, a ticket must be purchased by a Wissahickon High School student. The cost of a ticket for all Wissahickon students is $20.00. Ticket cost for students not attending Wissahickon High School is also $20.00. Students in 9th through 12th grade may attend. Students younger than 9th grade and older than 20 may not attend the dance.
Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday, January 30th. until Wednesday, February 6th. Tickets will not be available for sale after February 6th, no exceptions. In order to purchase tickets, each student attending the dance must be cleared of any and all obligations by Mrs. Duffy (Last names starting with A - K ) and by Mrs. Vasconez (Last names starting with L - Z) in the D Hall Administrative Office. At the time of purchase, students are required to turn in a completed emergency contact form and a signed Dance Procedure form. Students may pay with either cash or check (payable to: Wissahickon High School- Subject line: Class of 2020). Tickets may be purchased before school (7:00-7:30), after school (2:35-3:00), and during all lunches. Students can check to see if they have any obligations prior to ticket purchase by reviewing their personal information on Schoology.
If you change your date after purchasing your ticket(s), you will need to notify Mrs. Hawe and/or Mrs. Founds of the change prior to the dance and complete another emergency form and dance procedure form and verify that all obligations have been cleared. Failure to do so may keep your date from gaining entry to the dance.
The traditional attire for the dance are “cocktail” style dresses and suits. On the evening of the dance, students should arrive no later than 8:00 p.m. All students are required to check in at the main desk upon entry. No large bags or outside beverages will be allowed into the dance. Students will not be permitted to leave and re-enter the dance. Please make sure you bring your school ID (or driver’s license). Students may not leave the dance prior to 10:30pm.

We recognize how important it is to keep you informed. Below is a link to a “Senior Calendar” which provides you with a listing of dates and approximate costs for all of the senior year activities for the WHS class of 2019. Please pay close attention to all dates and deadlines listed.

Commencement for the class of 2019 will be on Thursday, June 6th at 6:00 p.m.
If our ceremony is outdoors in the stadium, each graduate will receive ten tickets. If our ceremony is moved indoors, due to inclement weather, each graduate will receive two tickets for the Circle Gym and an additional two tickets for family and friends to watch the ceremony via live feed in our auditorium. Handicapped accessible seating tickets will be available at the student or parent request. Please note that our tickets will be distributed to students on June 5th, at rehearsal, with the students’ caps and gowns. A decision to move the ceremony indoors, due to inclement weather, will be made on June 6th.
Information about our Victory Laps has been distributed through Homeroom to each graduating senior – don’t miss this awesome celebration! The Victory Laps will be held following graduation practice on June 5th. This is a great opportunity for our graduating seniors to dress in their cap and gown and walk the halls of the middle school and their former elementary school while teachers and current students line the halls to cheer on and congratulate our seniors. We encourage all of our graduating seniors to join us. Sign-up lists are in homerooms and interested seniors must sign up by January 31st.
This year, as in past years, we are offering families the opportunity to order flowers for their graduates in advance of or on the day of graduation. Please see the details below.
Stay tuned for additional graduation updates throughout the year. Congratulations, Class of 2019!
