At a celebration at Prophecy Creek Park last week, students were recognized for their environmentally focused art and poetry. Special shoutout to our 1st place winners who read their poems at the celebration.

During the month of April, Wiss Nation celebrates difference and promotes acceptance of Autism as a natural condition in the human experience.
What expenses surprised our juniors the most at the WHS Financial Reality Fair? "Haircuts! Food! Pet care! I barely had enough money to pay for everything! I’m broke!" These were some insights shared by students who participated in the Fair sponsored by Trumark Financial Credit Union. Every junior was assigned a job and a salary, then worked with the support of 40 volunteers to develop a monthly budget covering necessary expenses such as housing, utilities, transportation, clothing, and food - and other costs like entertainment.
The Wissahickon School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sean Gardiner as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent. Dr. Gardiner was approved by a unanimous vote of the Wissahickon Board of School Directors on March 3rd. He will begin his role on June 11th.
Kudos to our WHS students on their incredible production of Into the Woods performed March 6-8. The hard work and effort put in by the cast and crew made it an incredibly entertaining show for crowds of students, staff, families, and community members!
More than 100 seventh and eighth graders performed in sold-out performances of Mary Poppins Jr. on February 27 - March 1. The singing, acting and dancing was top notch! Shoutout to all of our performers, Mrs. Brown, WMS Choral/Drama teacher, and to all of the students, staff and parent volunteers who supported the production.
Wiss Proud! Eagles Proud! WHS made the largest “Bird Call” in the region! All 1,500 students called the Eagles to leave a phone message cheering the Birds on to victory. Accompanied by the band, the whole school sang the Eagles fight song! Also featured are 6th graders at WMS singing "Fly, Eagles, Fly!
Shoutout to our Blue Bell Elementary first graders who participated in a presentation to the school board on the Primary Educational Thinking Skills (PETS) Program. Aong with Enrichment Teacher Mrs. Wendler, the students explained the different types of critical thinking and deductive logic skills that they use to learn - just like a detective!
With appreciation for the hours of service our School Board gives to the Wissahickon community, we are pleased to share a series of three short, animated videos to highlight the board's role and responsibilities. We invite the community to take a few minutes to learn more about our board members,how to connect with them, and ways to participate in school board meetings.
Registration for incoming kindergarteners for the 2025-2026 school year begins in January! Children who will be age 5 on or before September 1, 2025, are eligible to enter kindergarten.
